Hello everybody! If you have read my previous post (Let’s move on: Step 1), I am assuming you have already finished doing your dream lists: your ideal type of life and your best version. However, if you are still stuck with it, let me know in the comments section of the blog or send me an email through the “contact us” form and let us find it out together.
For those of you who have made it, you should have two lists with several sentences in each one of them. One with the characteristics or traits that describe your best version (the type of person you want to become) and another one with the type of things that make you happy (the things you will do in your ideal life). Then, I would like to ask you a quick question: Is one of your goals to become a millionaire?
If your answer is “Yes” or “I want to have a lot of money to be happy,” then you should think twice. Even if you have all the money in the world, you could still be unhappy. Remember that money is only a tool, it is not the end goal. Money is like a stepping stone that you can use to achieve something more important in your life. In this regard, you need to figure out what are the things you want to accomplish with that money. Consequently, I would like to ask you a couple of questions: What will you do with that money? and What are you going to do when you become financially free?
ACTION STEP 2.A: Even though I have used the example of being a millionaire, the same issue could be happening with another of your goals. Review your lists one more time to make sure that those are your true goals/objectives. New goals may appear later on, but let us make sure those are the current ones. Review each one of your sentences while asking yourself: Why do I want to be like that? and Why do I want to have that? After you have checked and modified (when necessary) your sentences, imagine that you have already achieved each one of those goals and try to feel the happiness of having accomplished them (even though they are not a reality yet). See you in the next post. Take care!
